"This was an amazing find! The room was spacious with a separate dressing area and huge bathroom and spotlessly clean. The staff of this family-run hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The fix-priced menu for dinner was excellent and inexpensive and breakfast was brilliant with scrambled eggs made to order and a wide selection of savoury and sweet items. Great value for money and definitely to be recommended. "

"ATTENZIONE!

Spa ottima. Sauna e bagno turco in particolare. Unica nota negativa la temperatura troppo bassa per la piscina interna....

"This was a great hotel with a nice staff and amazing view. The only thing I wish was different was the size of the room. A bit too small. But overall we were happy there. "

We enjoyed our stay on our way to visit the Val Camonica rock paintings. We discovered this hotel that sits next to some terms we didn’t know of! The hotel itself was bigger than expected, had a small but comfortable room with a balcony with Mountain View’s. Elevator, parking on-site were things we always look for and were there. Also a nicely appointed buffet breakfast with eggs also available! We were very happy with this choice. The staff was always helpful as well, which is a plus when you...

The view from the window was breath taking. It was 4 of us and we had enough space to move around the room. There was no TV in the room but this did not bother us as we were constantly away doing something. Breakfast was very simple but nice we did not had to care in the morning to find anything, just one suggestion, maybe cucumber and tomatoes would be a nice addition. The surrounding is incredible and very relaxing. Highly recommend.

Wonderful hotel run by wonderful people. This is the second time that I stay here: Last Summer they rented me a bike for free and I went all around Lake Iseo; this year they offered me a discounted ticket for the famous spa, which is the town’s main attraction. It was a pleasure to talk with the owner of the hotel and share stories with him. And it is always amazing to admire and taste the huge variety of cakes being offered for breakfast. Thank you for the hospitality… and see you again next...

There is a wing of rooms directly over the front desk and the night I was there the computer system there was backing up or something and was making enough noise that it woke me up in the middle of the night. The front desk isn’t staffed at night, so I just had to try to go back to sleep. But I woke up with a headache, which is quite unusual for me. If I was given a room on the first floor above the front desk again, I would ask to be moved.

Run by welcoming Family. Helpful to a fault. Very good restaurant. Excellent service overall. A definite recommendation , based on several stays in Al Milano over the years.

Chef and his daughters were remarkably pleasant. Paola is a saint. Chef’s wife really bailed us out with currency exchange.
The restaurant deserves a Michelin star.
It’s off the beaten path but if you want true Italian this is it.
It’s our second trip and expect we’ll return.

Our group of 6 was simply looking for a place to stay the night before our early ride on the Bernina Express but Andrea and this lovely hotel made it a Thursday night to remember. The view from the high patio in the afternoon, the twinkling fairy lights that greeted us when we walked back from a wonderful dinner in town and the outstanding morning breakfast that was made early to accomodate our schedule all contributed to our desire to teturn for a longer stay. Good hotel, the room is large and clean, there is a mini bar, and the bathroom is modern. A bit noisy in the morning because of other guests leaving. The parking lot is small, but there is another very large one just 50m far. These chalet is just next to the "main" hotel, which also have the spa. There is a reduction for guests of the chalet, and it's totally worthwhile. All the amenities are given at the entrance, so there's no need to bring anything. 5-star breakfast, with a very wide...

Everything about this hotel and our experience was perfect! The staff were so helpful. The location was great for getting on the bernina the next morning! I would stay longer next time and further investigate the beautiful village!!

A nice place to relax. The shower plumbing wasn't working properly so water went everywhere and it wasn't a great shower to begin with but the people were so nice and it was a nice place to read and enjoy the mountain views and food was good (it's Italy!).

What is the best area to stay in Vilminore Di Scalve?
The best area to stay in Vilminore Di Scalve is within the main village center itself, particularly around the Piazza Giustinian and along the Via Vittorio Veneto.
This central area is the heart of Vilminore di Scalve, offering easy access to local amenities and a pleasant, pedestrian-friendly environment. You'll find the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta here, along with a selection of traditional shops, bakeries, and restaurants. The village center is compact, making it convenient to explore on foot.
Couples looking for a relaxing and authentic Italian mountain experience will appreciate staying in the village center. It provides a peaceful base to enjoy local cuisine, take strolls along the Dezzo river, and easily access hiking trails into the surrounding Orobie Alps.
When is the best time to go to Vilminore Di Scalve?
The best time to visit Vilminore Di Scalve is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and outdoor activities.
For those interested in hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the Bergamo Alps, late spring offers blooming wildflowers and comfortable temperatures, ideal for trails around Lake Iseo and the Val di Scalve. The days are long, and the local villages begin to open up more extensively for tourism.
Early autumn is also a great choice, with cooler temperatures great for longer hikes and enjoying the changing foliage. This period often sees fewer crowds than the peak summer months, providing a more tranquil experience. It's an excellent time for couples looking for a quiet escape with scenic views.
While summer (July and August) is warm and suitable for mountain activities, it's also the busiest time, especially with local Italian tourists.
